Training begins~

Tuesday: 30 minute run

Today is the day that official training begins! I actually ran the first day that I found out I got in...felt like crap, no surprise because I had been sedentary for the past 9 months or so.
Today was better however although it was 32 degrees and my ears were cold. I walked twice but for a short time. My goal is to run 30 minutes non-stop by the end of next week. Right now I am running 20...and breathing!

I am using Runner's World Complete Book of Woman's Running for motivation and training advice. Andrea actually bought the book for me two years ago. Since I am a beginner, they recommend that I run for time and not miles. I am okay with that..the thought of running 26 miles seems a bit overwhelming now so I'd rather not think about it. For the past couple of runs, an intense wave of fear hits me and I think :" What the the hell am I doing! I'm not going to be able to do this!" I acknowledge the thought and then let it pass..I will not allow myself to hold on to those thoughts...I always have in the past. That's why I have never pushed myself physically.
